During my internship at PEN America, I honed in my multimedia storytelling skills, creating engaging video
content that communicated complex narratives to a variety of audiences. Here is some of the work that I did:
To highlight Jodi Picoult’s work, I helped edit and add captions to this video of her highlighting the impact of her book “nineteen minutes.” This video garnered over 500k views on Instagram. To celebrate veterans during this year’s Veteran’s Day, I made this video with a past interview PEN did with Scott Satterwhite to highlight the importance of honoring everything veterans have done for our country. This video got 348k views on Instagram. As a personal project of mine, I interviewed six different students at New York University and asked them about their views on book bans in light of Banned Books Week. This video was posted to PEN’s Instagram and received over 30k views. For Pride Month this past June, I created a Pride Month Awareness Video to highlight the importance of celebrating the LGBTQ+ communities and how this community is affected by book bans and educational censorship.
